Friday Letters - Elementary/MS Director, Terry Bonn, Ed.D.
May 30, 2008
Ring Mountain Families,
With this school year drawing to a close, the RMDS faculty, staff and administration extend best wishes to each of you for a safe and happy summer holiday. We look forward to celebrating your child(ren)s successes with you this Friday, June 6 at the Step-Up and Graduation Ceremony, beginning at 10:00 a.m. This year the ceremony and reception are being held on the new RMDS field.
Report Cards will be mailed Monday, June 16. If you do not receive your grade reports by Wednesday June 18, or if you have questions regarding any of the grades or comments, call me by June 20.
Survey Responses have been collected and documented by grade level. Our appreciation to each of you who took time to complete and return the survey. I will be sharing grade-specific information with each teacher prior to their departure for the summer and incorporating suggestions as we plan for next year, for both classroom and administration.
RMDS Enrollment is growing and an additional 1st/2nd grade classroom is being added during the summer break. Sarah Eisenhardt has been hired for that classroom. Ms. Eisenhardt holds a Masters Degree in Education from UC Berkeley and a B.A in Psychology. Her student teaching experience includes Kindergarten through 4th Grade. She has experience as a Summerbridge teacher at University High School and at San Francisco Day School. Her experience and range of interests and skills will complement those of the returning RMDS faculty. Sarah will be attending Responsive Classroom training prior to faculty inservice on August 22.
The Search Process continues for the 3rd/4th Grade Teaching Assisting position. Liza Butler and I are actively reviewing resumes and meeting with applicants. With the assistance of Feli Pulaski and Shannon Beitchman, applications for the two Spanish positions (K-2; 3-8) are being reviewed and interviews being scheduled.
Missing Items will be located by the parking lot door through Friday, June 6. Unclaimed items remaining after June 6 will be donated to a local charity.
I am available throughout the summer, with the following exceptions:
June 23-27 Professional Development at Exeter
July 7-18 Off Campus
For families who will be relocating to other schools, it has been my privilege to work with you and spend this year with your child. Continued happiness and success to you! For returning families, I look ahead with anticipation for another year of growth and progress. Have a safe and happy summer!
Terry
