Pre-School Monthlies - Director, Laura Distasi
April 2008
Dear Preschool Parents,
It’s hard to believe that we only have two more months of school! The classrooms have been abuzz with activity all month. The arrival of spring has brought lots of growth – both in the gardens and in the children. The Rainforest room measured all their “inhabitants” during T week. As in, “how Tall are you?” It’s amazing to see how much all the children have grown since September. Some of them have been at Ring Mountain since they were Dolphins and it’s wonderful to see their confidence and assurance grow as they move through the school.
Mug Shots Photography took class pictures on Tuesday, April 1st and Wednesday, April 2nd. If you would like to order extra copies you can reach them by email at: info@mugsyclicks.com (you don’t need a login code to order a group shot).
We are planning to celebrate Earth Day this year on Friday, April 18th. The children will gather on the front lawn at 12:00 to sing songs and release butterflies, followed by an all school picnic lunch. Parents are invited to join us and so are our friends from the Tuesday/Thursday groups. Don’t forget to bring a lunch!
School will be closed for Spring Break from Monday, April 7th – Friday, April 11th.
When we return from Break, teachers will be putting out sign-up sheets for Parent/Teacher conferences in May. These conferences will include information from the “Developmental Profile” which is an assessment tool we use that helps us interpret for you the stages of learning and development in early childhood. Pre-K teachers also have a Kindergarten Readiness component.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have sent me emails or cards in response to my letter telling you I won’t be returning next year. I want you to know how much I appreciate all your good wishes and kind words. Thank You!
Warmest Regards,
Laura
