Pre-School Monthlies - Dolphin Room
Ms. Gutierrez & Ms. Hudkins
April 2008
Dear Dolphin Parents,
We had a “Poopy” month of March. Potty training was a success! Thank you for all your hard work and long hours of doing laundry. The Dolphins took a field trip to Sweet Things for successfully completing the two weeks of potty training. Everyone did a great job walking all the way to Sweet Things from the school. Every child got a special treat and walked all the way back to eat it. We all enjoyed the walk and the treats.
The Dolphins started this month out by learning colors. We studied red, blue, yellow, orange, and green. For a science and art activity we mixed colors together to make a new color. We mixed red and yellow to make orange and blue and yellow to make green.
The Dolphins were very into painting this month, so we did lots of easel painting.
St. Patrick’s Day was full of green and shamrocks. The Dolphins made shamrock headbands and painted and glittered big shamrocks.
Towards the middle of March we started talking about spring. We are all very happy that spring time is here! We have been enjoying lots of nature walks. During our walks we search for ladybugs and butterflies. The Dolphins have found red and yellow black spotted ladybugs. They all take turns having the ladybugs crawl around their arms, which they say “tickles”. Along with searching for ladybugs and butterflies we have been watching our own caterpillars in our room go through their life cycle. Right now they are in the chrysalis stage. The Dolphins have worked really hard in learning a butterfly’s life cycle.
The Dolphins have also celebrated spring by decorating our room with the beautiful flowers they painted. Flowers’ blooming all around us brings bugs, lots of different bugs. The Dolphins had fun playing with (pretend) insects and soil in the sand and water table.
Thank you to all the parents who have brought great snacks for the Dolphins. Also thanks to Gillian for providing us with flowers, pots and soil to plant in April.
Have a Wonderful Day,
Sandra and Brandy
