Library

The Library provides a wide range of learning opportunities and resources that meet the needs of large and small groups, as well as individuals;  focusing on intellectual content, information literacy, and the learner.

The Library and its function are not contained inside four walls.  There are no Library classes.  The roll extends and reaches the entire learning community of Ring Mountain Day School.  The pedagogy is one of collaboration and team teaching.  The Media Specialist/Librarian and teachers work in partnership to cultivate student achievement:   accessing, analyzing, evaluating and communicating information in an array of mediums including print and non-print.

Our collection of print materials consists of picture books, early readers, chapter books, and novels to meet the needs of all grade levels.  The nonfiction area covers a wide range of topics to support the curriculum.

To complement our print materials we subscribe to a powerful and continually updated electronic web-based search interface, EBSCO.  EBSCO provides access to over 300 full text and secondary databases. Students have access to EBSCO in and outside of school.    EBSCO is a search interface designed specifically for elementary/middle school students according to their needs and search abilities.
