Volunteer Opportunities
All great schools know that providing opportunities that reinforce the
bond between home and school is an important component of student
success. At RMDS, where community is a core value, parents'
volunteer work is needed and appreciated. Parents give time in
many ways, among them, classroom assistance with projects
and field trips, guiding visitors to the school, serving
on the Parents Association Board, welcoming new families,
Library, and organizing fundraisers. Each
family donates hours based on their program. Announcements
about volunteer opportunities are sent to parents each summer,
with updates appearing in the school newsletter.
Admissions events:
Parents can work with the Admissions Office as guides for
visitors to the school. Please contact Mark Mabry at mmabry@ringmountain.org if you would like to help with this or the Welcoming Families committee.
In the Classroom and events:
Classroom opportunities include serving as chaperones for
field trips, sharing special skills or knowledge with a class
or helping with events such as plays and celebrations. Contact your teacher
or room parent if you would like to help.
Fundraising events:
Opportunities for parents to participate in fundraiser activities
include Parent Association events such as the Walkathon, Book Fair and
Teacher Appreciation. Parents can also help with Parent Annual
Giving and the Annual Auction.
Library:
Parents can volunteer in the elementary library by cataloging,
shelving books, reading to children, and checking out books.
Please contact Nancy Diamonti at ndiamonti@ringmountain.org if you are interested.
