Advising
Middle School students are assigned a teacher/advisor with whom they meet twice each day for 15 minutes. Advisory meetings are an opportunity for homework to be checked, academic questions answered, various school activities organized or discussed, or small group social interactions. An advisory is a mixed-age group of no more than ten students, grades 5-8. The goal for each advisory group is to provide an academic, social and emotional framework for students throughout their middle school years. It is the responsibility of each faculty advisor to act as an advocate, counselor and academic support for each advisee. Advisors are a primary contact for parents and work with students in all aspects of their academic development. Advisory groups plan both individual and group activities.
