How does the application process work?
Students at Ring Mountain are imaginative, inventive, and motivated. To build a community of learners, the admissions process at Ring Mountain is selective and comprehensive. We use criteria that assess achievement, aptitude, and character to determine a good fit with our school. Our goal is to create balanced classes, taking age, gender, personality and other factors into consideration. RMDS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, special needs, or national or ethnic origin. All students are welcome to apply.

Our small tours provide an opportunity to meet Sarah Flowers, Head of School, watch classes in session, meet with students and teachers, and receive answers to questions about the school and admissions process. Tours are for adults only.
After visiting campus, if Ring Mountain feels like a good fit for your child and your family, we encourage you to submit an application. Forms are available to download. Applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable $100 application fee. Families applying for tuition assistance may request a fee waiver from the Admissions Office. We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2017.
Tuition assistance is available in all grades and is based solely on financial need. All admissions decisions are made separately from any consideration of financial aid. Approximately 25% of RMDS students receive some level of tuition assistance. For more details, click on our tuition and financial aid page.
All families applying for tuition assistance must complete the Parent Financial Statement (PFS) at SSS by NAIS and upload copies of their 2015 and 2016 tax returns.
Once your complete application has been received, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule a visit. Kindergarten applicants will be scheduled for a school visit or observation. Students applying to Grades 1-8 will spend a day in their current grade classroom. We will also schedule time for a parent interview, making our best effort to schedule it during your child’s visit.
RMDS will mail decision letters via USPS on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Families will be notified by email on Thursday, March 16 at 12:00 noon. If applicable, tuition assistance award offers will be included in the decision letter. Your completed contract and non-refundable deposit are due to RMDS on Thursday, March 23, 2017, by 10:00 am.
